Privacy Policy
Effective September 30, 2026 · Last Updated October 3, 2026
Uni Inc. ("Uni Inc.," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Uni platform. Uni is a product of Uni Inc. A "UniLink" is the personalized, shareable link the Uni platform generates for you.
At Uni Inc., we are committed to protecting your privacy and building a trusted voice-driven experience. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the Uni platform, including our web and mobile applications. By accessing or using Uni, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create a Uni account, we may collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, profile image, and creator handle. This information helps us create and manage your personalized voice experience and enables secure access to the platform.
1.2 Voice and Campaign Content
Uni enables users to upload audio, generate AI-assisted voice messages, and create personalized UniLink experiences. We may process audio files, voice characteristics, campaign descriptions, and listener interaction data to deliver customized experiences and improve performance.
1.3 Usage and Interaction Data
We collect information about how you interact with Uni, including clicks, listens, engagement signals, and campaign participation. This data helps us optimize personalization, improve audio delivery, and enhance platform functionality.
1.4 Device and Technical Information
We may collect device type, operating system, browser data, network information, and unique device identifiers for diagnostic, security, and service optimization purposes.
1.5 Location Information
With your permission, Uni Inc. may collect approximate location data to support real-world experiences such as event participation, check-ins, and geographically relevant campaigns. You may manage location permissions through your device settings.
2. How We Use Information
2.1 Delivering Personalized Voice Experiences
We use collected data to generate and deliver dynamic audio experiences tailored to each listener and to enable creators and organizers to communicate more effectively with their audiences.
2.2 Platform Operations and Improvement
Information is used to operate, maintain, and improve Uni services, including campaign performance insights, personalization quality, and product enhancements.
2.3 Communication and Notifications
We may send service-related communications such as verification codes, campaign updates, product announcements, or important policy changes. You may opt out of non-essential messages.
2.4 Analytics and Research
Aggregated and anonymized data may be analyzed to understand trends, optimize AI audio delivery, and improve overall user experience.
2.5 Legal Compliance and Safety
We may access or disclose information when required by law, to protect our users, prevent fraud, enforce platform policies, or maintain system integrity.
3. Our Commitment: We Do Not Sell, Rent, or Share Your Data
Uni Inc. does not sell, rent, lease, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing, advertising, or commercial purposes, under any circumstances.
This applies to all data collected through the Uni platform, including your name, contact information, voice content, usage data, and any other personal information you provide. We will never exchange your personal data for monetary or non-monetary compensation with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties.
Your information is used solely to operate, improve, and personalize your UniLink experience as described in this policy. Any third-party service providers we engage, such as analytics tools, cloud infrastructure providers, or platform integrations, are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing services on our behalf, and are held to the same data protection standards we uphold.
4. Voice and Synthetic Voice Data
When you choose to create a voice on Uni, we collect a short recording of your voice and use it to create a synthetic version of your voice through our voice provider, ElevenLabs.
You retain your rights in your voice and source recording. Uni does not transfer ownership of your voice to a Studio or Instructor.
We use your voice only for purposes you authorize. For example, an Instructor may allow a Studio to use their voice for messages related to classes they teach and may separately allow that Studio to use their voice for Studio-wide welcomes, updates or promotions.
We ask for your separate affirmative consent before creating your synthetic voice. We also keep a record of that consent.
We may keep your original recording while your voice remains active so that we can restore the provider copy if it becomes unavailable.
If you delete your voice, close your account, or end all authorized uses of your voice, we delete the original recording and provider voice within 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law or a valid legal hold.
Generated audio may be retained while it remains an active or reusable Uni message asset and for up to 90 days after it is no longer needed. Historical delivery metadata may be retained separately.
You may withdraw permission for future use of your voice at any time. Withdrawal does not rewrite historical delivery records, but no new content may be generated under a revoked permission.
Voice consent
Before Uni creates your voice, you check an unchecked box next to this statement:
I agree to let Uni create a synthetic version of my voice and use it only for messages I approve.
Consents given before October 3, 2026 were given next to this earlier statement, and remain valid:
Let Uni create and use my voice for messages I approve.
Uni will create and store a synthetic version of your voice for this purpose. Your voice stays active until you delete it or withdraw permission.
The full consent you give:
I consent to Uni collecting and using my voice recording, including through our voice provider, ElevenLabs, to create and store a synthetic version of my voice for messages I authorize. Uni may keep my source recording while my voice is active so it can restore my voice if needed. If I delete my voice, close my account, or otherwise end all authorized uses of my voice, Uni will delete the source recording and provider voice within 30 days, except where law requires otherwise. I can withdraw permission for future use at any time.
5. Studios, Instructors and Members
Uni supports businesses ("Studios"), the people who teach or work with those businesses ("Instructors"), and the people who receive their communications ("Members").
A Studio determines which Members it communicates with through its Studio workspace and is responsible for having the permission required to contact those Members. Where applicable law uses the terms controller or business, the Studio acts in that role for its Studio-member relationship and Uni acts on the Studio's behalf as a processor or service provider.
An Instructor participating in a Studio may receive access to the classes, sessions and limited Member information necessary to perform their authorized Studio role. Participation in a Studio does not give the Instructor ownership of the Studio's Member list or automatically add those Members to the Instructor's personal audience.
An Instructor may separately operate an independent business on Uni. Where applicable, the Instructor acts as the controller or business for that independent audience and Uni processes that information on the Instructor's behalf.
Members join an Instructor's independent audience only through a separate Instructor-owned relationship or other affirmative action. Teaching a Member through a Studio does not automatically create that relationship.
A Studio may use an Instructor's synthetic voice only within the permissions the Instructor grants. An Instructor may allow use for their assigned classes and may separately allow Studio-wide use. These permissions may be withdrawn for future use.
If an Instructor leaves a Studio, the Studio may no longer use that Instructor's voice for new messages. Historical delivery records may remain as described in this Privacy Policy.
If ownership of a Studio is transferred, the Studio's member relationships, consent records, settings and history remain with the Studio workspace. Access to the Studio is governed by the roles and permissions assigned within that workspace.
Uni separately processes account, authentication, billing, security, fraud-prevention, support and legal-compliance information for operation of the platform.
6. Messaging Consent and Opt-Out
Members choose which Studios or independent businesses may communicate with them.
To stop messages from one Studio, use "Stop messages from {Studio Name}" on that Studio's UniLink. This does not by itself stop messages from another Studio that has its own valid permission to contact you.
Uni also uses a shared telephone number for SMS and MMS. If you reply STOP to that shared number, your mobile carrier may block further SMS and MMS messages from that Uni sender. Uni therefore treats STOP as a global text messaging opt-out for that number.
You may reply START or UNSTOP to restore carrier-level messaging. Restoring carrier-level messaging does not itself create permission for a Studio that otherwise lacks valid consent.
We retain the minimum suppression information necessary to continue honoring an opt-out. When possible, that record is maintained as a secure, non-readable token derived from the normalized phone number rather than as a readable Member profile.
8. Sub-processors
- Google Cloud / Firebase — hosting, authentication, database, storage
- ElevenLabs — synthetic voice processing
- Twilio — SMS/MMS messaging
- Stripe — payment processing
- SendGrid — transactional email
- OpenAI — AI-assisted text drafting/processing
- Upstash — rate limiting (account IDs and IP addresses)
- Google Maps Platform — address autocomplete and maps
Integrations you choose to connect
- Mailchimp — contact import, when a Studio connects its Mailchimp account
9. How Long We Keep Information
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to legal, security, fraud, accounting and compliance requirements.
Voice source recordings and provider voice clones: while the voice remains active and authorized; deleted within 30 days after voice deletion, account closure, or the end of all authorized Uni uses, unless law requires otherwise.
Generated voice audio: while actively used or maintained as a reusable approved message asset, then for no more than 90 days after it is no longer needed.
Member contact information: while needed for the relevant Studio or Instructor relationship. If a Member is permanently deleted, readable personal information is deleted or de-identified from active systems within 30 days and routine backup copies age out within 90 days, except for limited records we must retain.
Archived Members: archiving is not permanent deletion. Archived records remain so the business can preserve history and restore the relationship.
Opt-out and suppression records: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to ensure that messaging preferences continue to be honored. Global STOP records may be retained indefinitely in a non-readable form for this purpose.
Closed accounts: general account content is deleted or de-identified within 90 days after account closure unless a longer period is legally required. Voice data follows the shorter 30-day schedule above.
Financial, tax, fraud-prevention and legally required audit records: may be retained for up to seven years or for any longer period required by applicable law.
Subscription cancellation alone is not account deletion. If you cancel a plan but keep your Uni account, information may remain so that your account and history can be restored if you reactivate.
10. Security
Uni Inc. implements industry-standard safeguards to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. While we strive to protect your information, no system can guarantee absolute security.
11. Children and Minors
Uni accounts are intended for adults age 18 or older.
UniLink and other Member-facing Uni features are not intended for children under age 13, and Uni does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without an approved legally compliant parental-consent process.
Members ages 13 through 17 should use Uni only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian where required.
Studios and Instructors are responsible for obtaining any parental, guardian or other permission required by law before providing information about or messaging a minor.
If we learn that we collected personal information directly from a child under 13 without required authorization, we will take steps to delete it.
12. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant updates will be communicated through the platform or via email.
